Services

Across the parish there are services with differing styles.

At The Church of the Holy Spirit the pattern of services is as follows:

1st Sunday

8.30am – Holy Communion led by Revd Mark Salmon. This is a quiet reflective Communion service.

10.00am – Morning Worship with space to welcome families bringing their children for baptism. A chance for us all to be reminded of the commitment to follow Jesus Refreshments available after the service.

2nd Sunday

8.30am – Holy Communion led by Revd Martin Heath. This is a quiet reflective Communion service.

10.00am – Second Sunday Special! – A place where all can have a voice, with space to ask, and answer questions on how we work out our faith together in the context of Café style worship. Refreshments are available during (and after) the service.

3rd Sunday

8.30am – Holy Communion led by Revd Mark Salmon. This is a quiet reflective Communion service.

10.00am – Holy Communion A chance to gather together to celebrate God’s goodness and receive the elements of bread and wine together. Refreshments available after the service.

4th Sunday

8.30am – Holy Communion led by Revd Mark Salmon. This is a quiet reflective Communion service.

10.00am – Morning Worship service led by members of the congregation and visiting preachers.. Refreshments available after the service.

5th Sunday

8.30am – Holy Communion led by Revd Mark Salmon. This is a quiet reflective Communion service.

10.00am – Morning Worship led by Revd Mark Salmon. Refreshments available after the service.

 

 

At Emmanuel Church the pattern of services is as follows:

1st Sunday

10.00 am – Service of the Word usually led by Revd Martin Heath with informal contemporary style sung worship. The service lasts approx 45 minutes and is followed by refreshments.

2nd Sunday

10.00 am – Service of the Word usually led by our Parish Reader. This service is an Iona celtic style liturgy with a more traditional style sung worship. The service lasts approx 45 minutes and is followed by refreshments.

6.30 pm – Holy Communion with anointing for Healing and Wholeness usually led by Revd Martin Heath. This is a service using Church of England liturgy without sung worship. The service lasts approx 1 hour.

3rd Sunday

10.00 am – Service of the Word usually led by Revd Martin Heath with informal contemporary style sung worship. The service lasts approx 45 minutes and is followed by refreshments.

3.00 pm- Messy Church Family Service. This is an informal worship service, aimed at the whole family and involves craft activities. The service lasts approx 1 hour and includes refreshments.

4th Sunday

10.00 am – Holy Communion using Methodist Church liturgy. The sung worship is a mix of traditional and contemporary. The service lasts approx 1 1/4 hours and is followed by refreshments.

5th Sunday

10.00 am – Agape Communion usually led by Revd Martin Heath with informal contemporary style sung worship. This is an inclusive Communion service for adults and children, whether Confirmed or not. The service lasts approx 60 minutes and is followed by refreshments.
